Simplicius, On Aristotle On the Soul 3.1-5

Simplicius, On Aristotle On the Soul 3.1-5 – cover

The commentary attributed to Simplicius on the opening chapters of the third book of Aristotle’s On the Soul – the chapters on sense perception, imagination and intellect – translated with introduction and notes by H. J. Blumenthal, with a preface by Richard Sorabji, in the series Ancient Commentators on Aristotle (2000). The commentary presents a Neoplatonist reading of Aristotle’s psychology and preserves much of the late ancient debate on the nature of the intellect.
